Early sixties. An old theater in northern London suburbia. Charlotte is sixteen, her sister Sarah eighteen, both fluent in French. They sing standards like "C'est si bon" and "Oh la la la, c'est magnifique" during small gigs. Charlotte is positive, she has found her path, but her father thinks otherwise. Charlotte finishes school and leaves the family house.
In 1976, a new opportunity arises when she meets Jean-Michel Jarre. Even before "Oxygène" she is aware of his talent through the songs he has been writing for Christophe and Patrick Juvet. Again, for different reasons, Charlotte won't sing.
Finally, in 1997, during the Paris Film Festival, she meets Jean-Pierre Stora. He and his long-time friend Michel Rivgauche have written a song for her "Comme une femme" and they have decided that Charlotte is their ideal singer. Charlotte has many doubts even if, unconsciently she has been dreaming about it for a long time. Jean Pierre Stora and Michel Rivgauche get the message : it will take time.

For the next two years she professionally trains her voice with Anne Charlot. By that time, most of the songs are already written. In between films, travels and various commitments, Charlotte intensely works with pianist Claude Rogen. He came regularly to her house and they rehearse, at her pace and her way, and figure out the right way to sing these songs.
Early 2001, Charlotte knows that the time has come to go to the recording studio. For the first time, with Claude Rogen at the piano, she tapes all the songs. Most of the lead vocals on the album come from these sessions, like a unique performance, all in one take.
Charlotte could have recorded the vocals and piano without anyone knowing it. Until that moment everything was kept secret. But F. Pierre Ribert, the publisher passes on the demo tapes to Inca Production. It is an obvious deal. From then on production is in the hands of Gérard Bikialo with his luminous and poetic arrangements. Today Charlotte is eager to get the public feedback from this album which has, in time, become so personal.
To sing Her body as an instrument.
Recently, his father who is ninety two, said to Charlotte "You like to sing ? - I did not know", she simply answered "you've got to listen ..."
