15. With Dirk Bogarde, 1984

"This is around the time Dirk Bogarde and I were doing a french TV series about the Louvre, which I only did because Dirk was doing it and he asked me. We were talking about the greeks and also about the Flemish painters. What an extraordinarily refined mind Dirk had - but edged with an irresistible bitchiness. I absolutely adored him. You don't find too many people with that kind of style any more - it's running out."
